Broccoli 12 Aug, Roland (USA - Zone 9b climate)
Patricia, I experienced the same last year in zone 9b. Not a single head or side shoots. After six months I pulled the plants and put them in the compost. Nothing goes to waste in my garden.
Luffa (also Loofah, plant sponge) 11 Jun, Wyndi (USA - Zone 7a climate)
I live in southern Idaho (zone 7) We have had an incredibly cold, wet spring. It is now mid June, would it still be possible to have success planting seeds now?
Luffa (also Loofah, plant sponge) 24 Jun, Linda (USA - Zone 8b climate)
Luffa need a very long growing season. It is said to need near 200 days. If you look for your first frost date then count back to today and see if you have enough days. Good luck!
Peas 08 Jun, Jessica Ipina (USA - Zone 9a climate)
I was a little confused. I got a planting reminder from the Old Farmers Almanac that it was time to plant peas June 8th, in zone 9a. Isn't it too hot?
Peas 09 Jun, Liz (New Zealand - temperate climate)
Hi Jessica, have a look at this page and ignore the O F A advice for peas. https://www.gardenate.com/plant/Peas

I have 3 Luffa plants potted , about 3” tall and healthy. They are ready to be put in ground. Now I am stuck. Full sun, part sun , keep wet, keep dry... central Florida on the river. Please help.

I also have 3 luffa plants. First year growing in north Florida. I put one in full sun, one in part sun and one in complete shade. They are all growing at the same pace but with one exception: the one in full shade has zero luffa. The other two each have 5 very large ones.

Brussels sprouts 04 May, Tina (USA - Zone 9b climate)
I planted my brussel sprout in early October I trimmed back all the lower leaves and I'm barely starting to get fruit now it's the first weekend in May and I'm getting little fruit about the size of a pencil eraser does it normally take this long?
Brussels sprouts 28 May, Nicole (USA - Zone 9b climate)
We planted ours in September. Our plants got huge by February but the actual sprouts remained tiny...and spicy! We discovered how delicious the leaves are so now we grow brussel sprouts for the leaves, rather than the brussels themselves :)

Chilli peppers (also Hot peppers) 04 Apr, jim (USA - Zone 10b climate)
how long does it take for chilli seeds to start to show in a seed tray. I've put mine in almost two weeks ago and no sign of them yet.
Chilli peppers (also Hot peppers) 06 May, Bob (USA - Zone 10b climate)
I'm in Ft. Lauderdale Florida (10B). I have the same issue. I've got a plethora of differing varietals that I germinated outdoors in Solo cups beginning in March. Some plants are 6"-8" tall while others are just starting to sprout. My Thai Chili Peppers are growing exceptionally well while the bell peppers are taking there "sweet" time getting here. The struggle is real.
Chilli peppers (also Hot peppers) 15 Apr, Sylvia (USA - Zone 9a climate)
Do you use a plant heat mat. It can be bought online or may be found at garden centers like Lowes or Home Depot. Peppers like heat for good propagation
Parsnip 01 Apr, Catherine Ingraham (USA - Zone 8b climate)
Can you sow parsnips in the fall, such as November, and harvest in the spring?
Snow Peas (also Sugar Peas, Mangetout, Chinese Peas) 29 Mar, Jacqueline Burel (USA - Zone 8b climate)
Can seeds for sugar snow peas be planted in april?
Snow Peas (also Sugar Peas, Mangetout, Chinese Peas) 31 Mar, liz (New Zealand - temperate climate)
They like cool weather to grow well, so April might be a bit late in your zone.

Asparagus 20 Feb, Jeanette Cobb (USA - Zone 7b climate)
Have dug up a dozen thriving Asparagus plants. Needed to move out of existing bed. Shall the dirt around roots be washed off or left undisturbed? Old heirloom type so need to save successfully. Only a few Spring shoots emerging right now. Thank for your help. Zone B
Tomato 18 Feb, Mary Doughty (USA - Zone 7a climate)
I'm having problems with grub's in my yard and garden. Has anyone ever used a spray called milky spore. If any one has how long does it take to get rid of them. The moels are reeking havock on everything because of them. Dogs digging after the moels is a completely different story and problem. Any advice would be appreciated thank you.
Tomato 08 Jun, Ryan Riendeau (USA - Zone 10a climate)
Earth-friendly beneficial nematodes seek out and kill grubs and other soil-inhabiting insects. They come on a sponge (invisible to naked eye) that you soak in water, put in a sprayer and spray your dirt or lawn. They will multiply over time and continue to kill grubs You can buy them online or at your local nursery.
